Dobbs Equipment strengthened its compact construction business by hosting its first-ever CCE Sales Training at the Lutz Branch in July, bringing Florida RAMs and CAMs together for hands-on learning and expert product insights.
The multi-day training, organized by Matt Blanford, Compact Construction Sales Manager, featured a comprehensive agenda designed to align with Dobbs' strategic goals in the CCE space.
"Our sales team trains so we can deliver a better, more knowledgeable, and more professional experience that reflects the Dobbs Commitment we believe in and the Deere products we represent." expressed Blanford.
The training culminated in a hands-on Field Day, where attendees put their knowledge into action through equipment operation and competitive equipment walk-arounds. Field Day was supported by Andrew Baron, Machine Specialist, and featured side-by-side evaluations of John Deere machines and competitor models from competitive equipment, including excavators and compact track loaders (CTLs).
When asked how this training will benefit the team, Baron responded "I think it's important for the sales guys to get together and share best practices, wins/losses, product knowledge, and build camaraderie. The time spent training will pay dividends in the field."
Matt Bargnesi, a CAM out of Orlando, reflected on different sale methods he picked up. "I always thought, get the customer a quote ASAP"! But after hearing from Blanford and other seasoned sales guys, getting to know the customers' needs, their equipment shortcomings, and offering demo opportunities, can go a long way. In short,"Make them fall in love with the machine first, then talk numbers" said Bargnesi.
This experience allowed the team to better understand and communicate the unique advantages of John Deere equipment in real-world scenarios. Gary Silvera, Compact Construction Sales Consultant from John Deere also played a key role during Field Day, providing on-the-ground education and answering product-specific questions.
This event demonstrates Dobbs Equipment's ongoing investment in employee development, interdepartmental collaboration, and product expertise. Plans are already underway for future training opportunities as we continue to expand our capabilities and grow our presence in the compact construction equipment market.
The next CCE training event is scheduled for November 2025 at the Lutz Branch, and all relevant Florida team members are encouraged to participate.
