How Dobbs Equipment Powered Alpha Wrecking's Transition to InHouse Recycling

By Sarah Jackson, Marketing Coordinator, Intern | Source: Adapted from Construction Equipment Guide

Dobbs Equipment empowers customers by providing the expert guidance, reliable machinery, and hands-on support needed to transform their operations from the ground up.

Dobbs is proud to spotlight a customer success story driven by the dedication and expert knowledge of the Dobbs Equipment team. Alpha Wrecking, a Florida-based demolition and recycling company, has seen major improvements in production and efficiency after partnering with Dobbs to bring its crushing operations fully inhouse.

Choosing the Right Tool for the Job

Alpha Wrecking, headquartered in Pompano Beach, works across multiple commercial and residential development sites and performs as much onsite recycling as possible to reduce hauling and speed up projects. For years, the company subcontracted its crushing work to an outside firm.

With guidance from the Dobbs sales and service teams, Alpha selected the Kleemann MOBICAT MC 110i EVO2 jaw crusher. The machine's production capacity, portability, and advanced control systems made it a strong fit for Alpha's fast-paced operations. Features such as independent prescreening, automated feed control, and overload protection help the crusher perform efficiently across changing job conditions.

Strong Performance on the Jobsite

On a recent project in Stuart, the machine processed over 5,000 yards of concrete, producing material for slab and road base directly on site. Alpha averages around 110 tons per hour of 2-inch minus material, with the crusher running roughly 10 hours a day across several active job sites.

Strong Performance on the Jobsite

John Coulter, an employee of Alpha Wrecking, serving as the company's crushing operations manager, and bringing more than 25 years of experience in demolition and recycling, shared his perspective on the machine's performance and design advantages:
"I've worked with other machines and obviously, every machine has its pros and cons," said Coulter. "This one, being a combination of direct drive motor for the crusher and electric motor for the conveyor means less hydraulic oils required, and much less potential for ground and end product contamination as a result of blown hydraulic hoses. I like that it's much more eco-friendly."

He also emphasized the level of support he receives from Dobbs:
"Dobbs Equipment has been great to work with and extremely attentive to our needs. As I got more and more acquainted with the Kleemann machine, I had questions and the technicians were helping me at any time I needed them, even emailing information after 8 p.m."

While Alpha handles routine maintenance, Dobbs' Field Service assists the team with complex updates and troubleshooting. Coulter noted that the machine's computerized safety features, adjustable magnet system, service platforms, and trifold hydraulic engine cover all contribute to faster setup and easier maintenance.
